Download (128 KB) | TimeSaver was inspired by the InsertMonkey clock, but unlike that browser-based version, this one is a stand-alone screensaver that does not require any third-party plug-ins or players, such as Shockwave™ or Macromedia Flash™. Installation & Usage Copy the TimeSaver.scr file to your system directory; it can then be enabled and configured through the “Display” control panel settings. The following attributes of TimeSaver can be configured to each user's preference: | | Display Seconds | | Checking the ‘Display Seconds’ check box will display the current second in the top-most band; if left unchecked, the top-most band shows the current minute. Displaying the seconds significantly increases the speed at which the screen is updated, which uses correspondingly more system resources. The default is checked (enabled). | | | Military-style time | | Checking the ‘Military-style time’ check box displays the current hour as a 24 hour value from 00 to 23; if left unchecked, the hour is displayed as a value from 1 to 12 with the appropriate am or pm suffix. The default is checked (enabled). | | | Separate bands | | If checked, a small gap is displayed between each of the bands; if left unchecked, all of the bands share a top or bottom edge. The default is unchecked (disabled). | | | Background Color | | Sets the background color for the bands, typically a darker color. The default background color is a dark green. | | | Foreground Color | | Sets the foreground color for all of the bands, typically a lighter color. The default foreground color is a light green. |
